The Role of DiCE
In the DSCERN project, DiCE is implicated in Work Package 7 (WP7).
The work to be undertaken in WP7 addresses relevant stakeholders and disseminate outcomes of DISCERN through the translation of cutting-edge scientific findings into understandable and actionable information, focusing particularly on cancer patients, the public (citizens), and European healthcare policy makers.
Together DiCE with two other patient advocacy umbrella organisations, the International Kidney Cancer Coalition (IKCC; WP7 Leader), Digestive Cancers Europe (DiCE) and Pancreatic Cancer Europe (PCE), collectively representing over 150 patient groups and dedicated to advancing knowledge and disseminating information will be involved in WP7: The geographic reach of these organisations across Europe will enable effective dissemination of findings regarding risk factors to countries most affected by the increased incidence of these cancers.
IKCC/DiCE/PCE activities at the EU parliamentary level will optimise the potential for impactful policy changes, supporting the local/national activities of their member/affiliate organisations. WP7 partners are professional EU-based non-profit patient-led organisations.
